Dauphin Island Sea Lab Discovery Day set for April 10

Exhibits for Discovery Day include marine-themed games, touch tables, and arts and crafts. Community agencies will be there, as well as the Azalea Trail Maids and Smokey the Bear.

Birders flock to Dauphin Island for spring migration

Along Alabama’s Coastal Connection Scenic Byway, the Audubon Bird Sanctuary on Dauphin Island is well known for its variety of feathered visitors. As a matter of fact, of the 445 species of birds documented in Alabama, 95% of them have been spotted on Dauphin Island. With 137 acres of maritime forest, dunes and swamps, the sanctuary provides a safe habitat for our winged friends.
