As summer is winding down, folks are gearing up for 2021 fall events along Alabama’s Coastal Connection Scenic Byway. You’re sure to find multiple favorites among the many large-scale festivals as well as niche-friendly events.

  • The 17th Annual John L. Borom Alabama Coastal Birdfest is slated for October 6-9 and attracts birders from across the United States and Canada for prime birdwatching opportunities.  
  • The Annual National Shrimp Festival takes over the public beach in Gulf Shores October 7-10, filling the area with food, art, retail vendors, live entertainment and much more.  
  • The German Sausage Festival in Elberta will be open October 30. More than 200 arts and crafts booths, entertainment for the family, and the famous German sausage highlight this twice-yearly festival.
