School lessons will be starting again soon. Maybe now is a good time to take a quick break and make your way to Alabama’s Coastal Connection Scenic Byway. There’s nothing like beautiful, natural scenery to brighten a mood!
Our Connecting with Nature sample itinerary is a good place to start your journey. Allow a couple of days to follow this tour that begins on Dauphin Island. From there, ride the Mobile Bay Ferry to the Fort Morgan peninsula and Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge. After a full day of exploring the coastal habitat, enjoy an overnight stay with a view in Gulf Shores or Orange Beach.
Day two begins with a visit to the marinas in Orange Beach. Consider booking a charter or hopping on a shared fishing boat for a full or partial day on the water. After Orange Beach, the next stops are Weeks Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, Downtown Fairhope and, finally, the Eastern Shore Trail.
What is your coastal interest? Other sample itineraries include Connecting with the Past, Connecting with the Land & the Sea, Connecting with Food, and Connecting with Each Other. Of course, these are just ideas. Take a look at our Interactive Map and explore to your heart’s content!
