Spring is a busy season for festivals along Alabama’s Coastal Connection. Here on the coast, we love to throw a party and celebrate just about anything. There’s always something to do, so we’ll share just a few of the season’s highlights below.

During the first three weeks of March, local artisans have several opportunities to present their amazing talents and creations. The list begins with Ballyhoo: A Celebration of Art and Culture in Gulf Shores on March 7 and 8. The next weekend brings the 46th Annual Festival of Art to Orange Beach, and the 68th Annual Fairhope Arts & Crafts Festival will be held March 20-22.

April brings the Waterway Village Zydeco & Crawfish Festival to Gulf Shores on the 4th, followed by the 11th Annual Bama Coast Cruisin’ in Orange Beach on the 24th and 25th. That weekend is also the Interstate Mullet Toss and Gulf Coast’s Greatest Beach Party at Flora-Bama.

Gulf Coast Hot Air Balloon Festival

Foley is the spot for high-flying adventure and family fun during the Gulf Coast Hot Air Balloon Festival on May 1 and 2. Live entertainment, arts & crafts and more accompany the bright colors of balloon flights, glows and tethered rides (weather permitting) at dawn and dusk.

The Hangout Music Festival wraps up spring with three epic days of live bands on multiple stages at the beach in Gulf Shores. On May 15, 16 and 17, hear award-winning artists, roller skate with your besties, swim and dance at the Monster Beach Club, and so much more.
