The 32 miles of white-sand beaches on the Alabama Gulf Coast are breathtaking, but if you are looking for a change of pace, get your toes out of the beach sand for a little while and hopefully not into the bunkers at one of the signature golf courses in the area. Each of these courses are visually spectacular. Try the challenging Earl Stone designed course at Rock Creek Golf Course in Fairhope and Timber Creek Gold Club in Spanish Fort or experience the affordable links-style, 27-hole championship layout at Glenlakes Golf Club in Foley. Travel to Perdido Key to play Lost Key Golf Club. (Don’t forget to stop at the Flora-Bama, the infamous bar on the Alabama-Florida line.) Three of these courses – Peninsula Golf & Racquet Club, Kiva Dunes Golf Resort and Cotton Creek/Cypress Bend courses at Craft Farms Golf Resort are all within 30 miles of each other. Now that’s a golf paradise! After all…birdies and bogeys go better with an gulf view!
