If you have ever wanted to see a winter wonderland, you must visit Bellingrath’s Magic Christmas in Lights. Even the locals flock to this landmark’s light display that is now celebrating its twentieth year of Christmas magic. •The staff begins working on displays in September.

The event runs through January 3, 2016, with lights turned on every evening from 5 until 9 p.m. except Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Tours of the home are available all day long until 7:30 p.m.
Purchase tickets at Bellingrath online or at any Regions Bank. For the gardens only, adult tickets are $15, children from 5 to 12 are $7, and four and under are free. Package price for both the garden and home is $24 for adults, $13 for ages 5-12, and free for children under four. If you visit Magic Christmas in Lights on weekends Santa will be available for pictures.
Grab something to eat at the Magnolia Café. Snacks like popcorn and hot chocolate are also available at the Live Oaks Plaza. Then take a little bit of Bellingrath Gardens home with you – stop by the gift shop.
Before visiting Magic Christmas in Lights, there are a few things you should know. If you’re bringing small children to Bellingrath Gardens, remember that 65 acres is a long walk. Consider bringing a stroller or wagon. Pack snacks and dress children in layers. Gulf Coast weather is changeable!
Also, you are welcome to bring a camera or some type of device that allows you to take pictures. When taking pictures, though, please take a hands-off approach when it comes to the displays; pose near, but not on, the exhibits.
