Did somebody say oysters? You heard right – it’s almost time for the 8th Annual Oyster Cook-Off and Craft Beer Weekend at The Hangout. The fun stretches across Friday, November 6 and Saturday, November 7 in Gulf Shores. Each year the Oyster Cook-Off brings Gulf Coast restaurants and celebrity chefs together in a celebration that features our tasty oysters!

Hosted by The Hangout (101 East Beach Boulevard) and sponsored by Alabama Gulf Seafood, this event includes the Craft Beer Festival which features the Black Jacket Symphony performing Dark Side of the Moon. Take a sip of more than 60 craft beers, enjoy the live music, and watch demos by notable brewmasters. Your $40 ticket includes full access!

Watch the celebrity chefs compete for awards in three categories, including Best Oyster. Their is a nominal admission fee. Some of the chefs you could see in action are Food Network’s Celebrity Chef Anne Burrell, Next Food Network Star runner-up Jay Ducote, Marc Murphy of Chopped, and Executive Chef Jim Smith from the Alabama Governor’s Mansion. Take a peek at the list on The Hangout Cook-Off Chefs page. With seventy chefs competing, the shells will be flying!
