The ACC is Alabama’s Coastal Connection Scenic Byway. This byway is meant to serve as a place where nature, history and recreation can all be connected to provide an educational and enjoyable experience for all visitors.
What are the goals of the byway?
- Develop and encourage activities that are profitable, but also keep the corridor’s character and cultural integrity.
- Plan and apply protection, maintenance, preservation and enhancement of resource initiatives.
- Get the community involved in the scenic corridor development program.
- Educate the public with unique facts about the corridor.
- Offer different forms of transportation along the byway and support safety for all visitors.
- Supply context-sensitive transportation improvements along the corridor.
