Fall is just around the corner, which means it’s a perfect time to relax in the outdoors along Alabama’s Coastal Connection Scenic Byway. Here, camping enthusiasts will find several nature-based locales for pitching your tent or parking your RV.
One of the most popular camping areas along the Coastal Connection is in Gulf State Park. Located less than two miles from the beach in Gulf Shores, it offers 496 full-hookup campsites and 11 primitive sites. Tents are welcome on all.
Ready to experience primitive camping but didn’t bring your own tent? Check availability for any of the three Gulf State Park Outpost Campsites. Each military-style tent is already set up and includes four cots. With no electricity and access only by foot or bicycle, peaceful communing with nature is a given.
On the north side of Mobile Bay, Meaher State Park offers 61 RV campsites and 10 improved tent sites with water. Primitive camping is available for groups or individuals, but you’ll also find laundry facilities and a modern bathhouse in this wetlands location.
Those are just two of the locations available for an outdoor lifestyle along the byway, so let our suggested itineraries lead you to even more camping as well as attractions and activities.
Whatever your getaway goals, you can find the campsite and the experience you’re looking for on Alabama’s Coastal Connection Scenic Byway.
