If you’re traveling to the Alabama Gulf Coast for a sporting event this summer, why not make it a family vacation? With the kids out of school, they’ll be ready for some fun while in town. 1. Attractions – During your downtime between games, you will find this area to be filled with plenty of choices for entertainment! Another great option on a hot summer day is Waterville USA, which features a giant water park for kids of all ages!
2. Fishing – If you love to fish, you won’t want to miss out on reeling in a big one on the Gulf of Mexico! The Alabama Gulf Coast has a large fleet of charter boats with more than 100 experienced captains ready to help you get the catch of a lifetime! Those with older kids in tow might want to take an adventure with some deep sea or offshore fishing, while smaller children will do better on an inshore or nearshore boating experience. The Gulf Shores State Park Pier is also great for those who would prefer to stay on dry land.
3. Dolphin Cruises – Do you enjoy watching dolphins in their natural habitat? Book a cruise to head out on the water to see these majestic creatures at play. The kids will love to see them show off for all the passengers. This is also a great way to check out the beautiful scenery and vegetation of the Alabama Gulf Coast.

The Alabama Gulf Coast features beach dives, upscale dining, and everything in between. For those picky little eaters, you’ll find numerous kid-friendly restaurants with appealing children’s menus.
5. Beach – Pristine white sands and turquoise waters means that the beach is a great way to spend time with the family. Build sand castles, wade or swim in the water, bask in the sun, and listen to the tranquil sounds of the waves. However you like to spend time on the beach, it’s a wonderful way to unwind after a big game.
