Bellingrath Gardens and Home

Imagine, if you will, a southern estate sitting on 65 acres of lush gardens. An estate with more than 250,000 vibrant azaleas, 2,000 rose plants representing 36 varieties, hydrangeas, beautiful tropical plants, and a 10,500-square-foot home to tour. You don’t have to imagine it, though. Just plan a visit to Bellingrath Gardens and Home this spring.

Bellingrath Gardens opened to the public in 1932 and the home was built in 1935. Today, the home contains the original Bellingrath furnishings, and a special treat of the Delchamps Gallery of Boehm Porcelain can be found in an adjoining building.

Plan your trip for Easter weekend and experience a sunrise (6:30 a.m.) service on Live Oak Plaza. After the service, explore the grounds at your leisure with the complimentary admission.

To find out what is in bloom, visit the Bellingrath website.  Be sure to check often for the azalea bloomout so you can catch the peak of the color explosion.
