Take a walk
There are many beautiful places to take a walk along the byway! Take in the breathtaking plumage at Bellingrath Gardens. Make footprints in the sand at Gulf State Park. Take a sunset stroll on the Fairhope Pier. Wherever you walk along Alabama’s Coastal Connection, make sure you’re doing it hand in hand.
Do an activity together
Do you share a hobby or interest with your significant other – or want to try something new? The byway provides a wealth of fun activities to experience as a couple. Tee it up at one of the eight championship courses in and around Gulf Shores. (Not a great golfer? Take a golf lesson together!) Get lost at sea with a fishing or kayaking trip in Bayou La Batre. Or maybe it’s time to kick up the adrenaline and enjoy sky-high views at Gulf Adventure Center’s Hummingbird Zipline at The Wharf in Orange Beach.
Enjoy a romantic date night at a fancy restaurant
Get dressed up and go out on the town for a romantic dinner for two at a first-class restaurant. The Scenic Byway is home to some great ones! Stop at any of the area welcome centers to learn about off-the-beaten-path gems of great food and true Southern hospitality.
