Planning your trip to this year’s Hangout Music Festival? From May 18 to 20, thousands of music lovers will descend upon Gulf Shores ready to rock out all weekend long. If you’ve never been to this gigantic music festival before, here’s our guide to making the most of your Hangout experience.
Skip AirBnb.
AirBnB might seem like a cheaper option, but it’s slim pickings when it comes to places to stay near the beach. Your best bet is renting a condo close to the action with Brett/Robinson or Meyer Vacation Rentals. Plus, the Hangout shuttle offers rides from many of the major properties straight to the festival.
Stock up on groceries.
If you’re staying for a few days, heading to a grocery store like Publix or Rouses to stock up on essentials is never a bad idea. Grab snacks for the condo, booze and mixers for the pre-game and all the beach essentials like sunscreen, beach chairs, umbrellas and more. At the festival, food and drink can get pricey, but there’s nothing stopping you from heading back to your condo, enjoying some refreshments, and then heading back out for more fun.
Know the rules.
Aside from the festival’s own list of rules and prohibited items, it’s important to keep in mind the local Leave Only Footprints policies. No glass is allowed on the beach, and all personal items will be removed from the beach an hour after sunset. Sorry, folks, no camping allowed!
Insider tip:
If you’re thinking of dining at The Hangout restaurant during the festival, be prepared to wait, as tables don’t turn over. Many folks arrive at the restaurant early for breakfast and stick around, as the restaurant offers a great view of the beach and the main stage. Don’t worry, though. Gulf Shores has plenty of incredible places to eat, drink and be merry.
Summer fun along the #BeachByway starts with Hangout. We’re looking forward to a fun weekend full of fun in the sun and incredible musical acts. Are you joining us for the biggest beach party of the year?
