Relaxing on the beach is one of the best reasons to hit the Alabama Coastal Connection, but if action packed adventure is more your vacation style, you’re in luck. There are so many ways to get your adrenaline pumping and your heart thumping along the coastal byway, so pack your favorite shades and sunscreen and prepare to get wet!

Jet Ski – Jet skiing isn’t for the faint of heart. But if you love the spray of salt water on your face and the wind whipping through your hair, you’ll love jet skiing. Bring your own or rent your fleet by the hour, for a half or for a full day.

Parasail – Get a bird’s eye view of all the action when you parasail along the coastal byway. Up in the clouds, parasailing is the best way to spot turtles, stingrays and whatever else lurks in the deep gulf waters.

Kayak – Pack your fishing pole and prepare to see Alabama’s unique natural habitats and creatures up close and personal when you kayak. Go at your own pace and explore the still waters along the coast. Rentals and guided tours are available.

Paddleboard – Paddleboarding requires a little more agility than some of the watersports listed above, but don’t let that discourage you! If you’ve never tried paddleboarding before, most places where you can rent paddleboards also offer everything from basic instruction to classes. Give it a try.

No matter your skill or experience level, the coastal byway offers amateurs and pros alike plenty of opportunity to have fun out on the water. Which of these watersports will you try out on your next journey along Alabama’s Coastal Connection?
