Gulf Shores and Orange Beach have long been considered the go-to places for spring break family fun. These two beach cities offer families the chance to put aside the school books and enjoy rest and relaxation. This year, you don’t have to do anything out of the box, unless you want to. Just take time to enjoy some traditional spring break activities on Alabama’s white-sand beaches. Sometimes simple is the best way to enjoy the beach and experience a whole new state of downtime.
Consider these four things to do while spending spring break on the Alabama Gulf Coast.
Amusement Parks. Did you play a game or two of putt-putt when you were a kid during your family beach vacation? Or, maybe you challenged your siblings to a go-kart race. You can still do all those and more at Gulf Shores amusement parks and Orange Beach attractions. Add miniature golf, arcades and a roller coaster ride to your beach vacation itinerary.
Hit the Beaches. You can’t plan spring break without time soaking in the sun and splashing in the waves. The beaches here are special in every way. The sand is white, and the water is crystal clear. Bring your sand toys and watch the kids build sandcastles. Don’t forget a picnic lunch. Everyone is sure to work up an appetite.
Enjoy the Food and Nightlife. After a day playing in the sand with the kids, load up the car and visit a Gulf Shores restaurant with nightly music. Feast on fresh, Gulf seafood or mouthwatering burgers while tapping your feet to music by local musicians. Bring the kids along for an early dinner and music. Later in the evening, enjoy an adult night out at Orange Beach hot spots.
Sand Volleyball. If you love watching sand volleyball, you’ll find the best teams in the region on the beautiful beaches of Alabama. Come down and enjoy some great volleyball action as teams vie for the title of best on the beach. You might even be inspired to head out and play a little beach volleyball yourself.
Gulf Shores and Orange Beach are premiere hot spots for family spring breakers. That said, plan ahead and reserve your spot in the sun.
