Alabama native Ace Atkins was recently announced as the featured author at the festival. Atkins’ novel ‘Lullaby’ debuted at number six on the New York Times Hard Cover Best Seller’s List. The crime mystery writer is scheduled to sign copies of his books on March 9 and 10 during the festival. Books will be available onsite.
Atkins is just one of many interesting artists who will be on hand at the festival. The music and songwriter’s stage will host local and regional musicians including Brent Burns, Jonny Lipford, Lisa Zanghi, Sugarcane Jane, Ed Williams, Roman Street and more.
The performing arts stage will be alive with action as performers demonstrate their talents from ballet to belly dancing. Artists include the Coastal Ballet, Dolphin Sound, G.C. Martial Arts, ASAP Theatre Troupe, Riviera Ramblers and Zuri Belly Dancers.
Young art lovers will enjoy some time in the Kid’s Art Alley where they can take part in hands-on arts and crafts. Another fun event for the kids is the production of Seussical Jr by the ASAP Theatre Troupe on March 7 at the Orange Beach Event Center. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under.
Public parking for the Orange Beach Festival of Art is available at The Wharf. Shuttles service will be provided for $2 each way. You still have time to take advantage of great off-season rates in Gulf Shores & Orange Beach. Come enjoy a weekend of art on the Gulf Coast!
