If you’ve never seen a fireworks display over the water, don’t miss the City of Gulf Shores’ Fourth of July Fireworks Extravaganza. With views from any public beach in Gulf Shores, the annual event provides a colorful, patriotic salute to the nation’s independence.

Bring a blanket and find a spot on the sand for one of the most spectacular beach events of the year! The sparkling reflections over the Gulf of Mexico will definitely be a memory to file away. Get to the beach early, and enjoy the sunset. The show begins shortly after dark.

You may like to sneak in a little history on your trip with a visit to Historic Fort Morgan, also known as the “Guardian of Mobile Bay.” Spend a few hours, or the whole day, at the Fort exploring the batteries and citadel of the 200-year-old defensive structure during its “Salute to American Independence.” The July 4th event features re-enactors in clothing from the era. Admission is $7 for adults, $4 for children age 6 to 12 and free for children 5 and under.

Be sure to watch our Calendar of Events as the holiday approaches so you don’t miss out on any fun events and activities along the Gulf Coast.
