Dauphin Island in Mobile County offers several picnic spots with picturesque views of the island and water while providing a place to relax.Picnic Spots on the Alabama Gulf Coast Three picnic gazebos are available at East End Park while picnic tables and benches are available at Cadillac Square Park, Bayou Heron Park, Aloe Bay Landing Park and Magnolia Park.

Two covered pavilions and a picnic area at Gulf Shores Public Beach make a great stopping place for families who want to enjoy a meal at the beach. There is a $5 parking fee for four hours or $10 for an all-day pass. When you leave, pack your gear, gather your trash and Leave Only Footprints.

offers several picnic areas along Lake Shelby and the Gulf of Mexico. Enjoy your time at the beach with a meal under the cool and shady beach pavilion that includes air-conditioned bathrooms with showers and a large concession stand that’s open on a seasonal basis. Cooking, fire and glass are prohibited in the parking lot, beach pavilion and the beach. The beach pavilion is open 7 a.m. to sunset, seven days a week. Parking fees are charged.

Picnic areas at Lake Shelby in Gulf State Park come equipped with charcoal grills, public restrooms, picnic tables and two covered pavilions. The pavilions are a popular spot for birthday parties, family reunions and other small group outings. Rentals are available seven days a week, except for major holiday weekends; rental fees are charged. Leashed pets are allowed in the picnic area.

A screened pavilion on Catman Trail near the Butterfly Garden offers a lovely and fly-free place to enjoy a picnic on the Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail that crosses the sister cities of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. Free.

Nestled on the shores of Wolf Bay is the Orange Beach Waterfront Park, open to the public year-round. This public park boasts a 400-foot fishing pier, covered pavilions and seating, picnic shelters with grills, restrooms, a paved walking path and parking. Children can enjoy the lighted kids park with slides, swings and climbing areas as you organize the meal. Free.
