ACC April Blog No. 2 CampingDoes your idea of a getaway involve a camper or tent? The Dauphin Island Park and Beach campground offers a variety of amenities that offer exclusive access to many fun activities while giving you what you really crave: time away from the crowd.

Bring your RV or pitch a tent – there’s room for both kinds of camping. The facility boasts 151 sites, including 99 full-hookup sites. You’ll find 30/50 amp service on all sites, and you don’t have to worry about missing the internet because free wifi is available. The full-service campground store will keep you furnished with what you need. In addition to the free boat launch and an off-leash dog park, campground features include picnic tables, a boardwalk to a secluded beach, and access to miles of paved and natural trails for walking and biking. Bicycle rentals are also available.

While you’re in the area, take a trip over to the Dauphin Island Audubon Bird Sanctuary. The island has been voted one of the four best places for viewing spring migrations. It’s no wonder, when you realize the sanctuary has 137 acres of maritime forest, marshes and dunes and includes a swamp, lake and beach.
